Glacier National Park

Travel.  I love to see new places and new sights, but sometimes I find myself making unfair comparisons.  For example, Glacier National Park.  What a beautiful park!...but we are a little jaded.  Living in Alaska we had a glacier in our backyard complete with black bears and wolves and all matter of wildlife.  That isn't to say that Glacier wasn't beautiful in its own right, but when you have the beauty of Alaska (on a rare sunny day) there truly is nothing to compare.  Alaska is just beautiful in its raw, untouched way.
We did see wildlife today.  Deer, bighorn sheep, ground squirrel, fox, prairie dogs and pheasant.  The first deer we saw was on a quick hike we did through the Trail of Cedars and we could've touched it since it walked right out in front of us.   The bighorn sheep were right along the road and we just missed a bear that was wandering along the road.  We know that we just missed it since the ranger was packing and his lights were blazing.
We were amazed by the vast plains on our drive down toward Great Falls, MT.
BTW, leaving Seattle I turned to Steve and said "You know, we're going to be THAT car."  He didn't know what I meant.  So, I explained that we would be that rare find on the license plate game.  Today as we circled the parking lot(unsuccessfully) at Logan Pass Visitor Center, we heard a woman exclaim "I knew I would see one!"  Her boyfriend was incredulous and he followed to make sure she wasn't lying.  Yup, we made someone's day...or made someone lose a bet.

Use the Hawaii coolness factor to your advantage! Katy pretty much ruled over her cousins at the family reunion for the sole fact she is from Hawaii.
