So I love my minivan (did I actually say that?) but this week I was ready to trade it in! First, the tires that are on it can only be replaced at the dealer for about $350 each. Did I mention this is a minivan? I mean what are these people smokin'? It's not like I'm going down to the track and need my slicks...Anyway, they are the run flat tires from Michelin and are made only for Honda, etc, etc. On top of all of that, the techs have to be certified to replace them AND it takes about 4-5 hours to replace two tires. Yeah, with three kids...this should be fun. By the way, did I mention that the tires only have 18,000 miles on them? Then today my battery went. Not only was the battery ready to explode but there was so much corrosion that the terminal completed corroded the battery cable and we need a new one of those too. Again, yeah! Luckily, this all happened while we were in the driveway and Steve was home. He fixed it (as best he could) and is headed to Phoenix now for a couple of days. We were able to get to the beach for a couple of hours and it was a great day for it.
Bella had testing for Kindergarten on Thursday and she seemed to do well. They did a vocabulary test and she was getting things like "parallel" right. She is disappointed that her best bud will be moving to California after all. Her parents were thinking of moving back in June, but then thought they would stay. Maybe it is good that she sees that other people move too. Bella starts school this Tuesday and we are looking forward to another good year.
Alaina said "Aloha" to the 3 year old classroom and has officially moved up to the 4 year olds. She definitely enjoys being in the 4 year old classroom much more, so hopefully drop off will be a little less stressful for her (and me). She is getting excited that her birthday is right around the corner. She wants a castle cake this year...thanks Christy for the cake pan, this year is going to be a breeze!
Jake is doing well and has been staying awake for longer periods during the day. He has a little activity mat that he enjoys, but not like he loves the water. Hopefully, we can keep him busy and he will start sleeping through the night. Wouldn't that be nice...
I will upload pictures tomorrow.
