Jake runs on Dunkin...Bella declares American Girl doll a no-go for Christmas

Yesterday, Alaina and I headed to the clinic because we were both still feeling lousy from this darn cold we've had for over 3 weeks.  While there, we got flu shots.  Jake was not all that happy about it but only uttered a mean "ouch" to the nurse.  As we waited at the pharmacy, he declared that it was mean and not nice.  By this time he had pinned his arm down his side, immobile.  I tried my best not to laugh at him when he started limping. I guess the shot paralyzes the whole side of the body you get it on...  So I told him that a Dunkin Donuts trip might make it feel better.  He kept the arm pinned to his side and limped out to the car...and the same into Dunkin Donuts.  He tried to take the donut with his uninjured hand but I told him it wouldn't work like that.  So, he slowly takes the donut from my hand and precedes to eat the sprinkles and frosting off the top.  When that was done, he declared, "IT DOES WORK!" and began to use the right side of his body again.

Last night's advent activity was writing letters to Santa.  Bella's was coming along well when I noticed her scratching something off her list.  I realized that it said "american girl doll."  I asked why she had scratched it out if she wanted another one to which she replied, "Mom, that would be wasting a wish because that's all Alaina wants, so I'll let Santa bring her one and then I'll play with hers."  Brilliant (until Alaina started yelling at Bella that she wouldn't let her play with it because that's not fair, blah, blah, something about not nice (you get the picture)) I love these kids.  Every day is entertaining.
