Christmas Nativity

camel kisses

all by myself...

Last year I decided that I really should do an advent calendar for the kids.  I wasn't finding anything that I liked...pre-made cardboard junk with spots for candy (like we need more cavities?) or too complicated for me to make.  In the end, I decided that I wanted to experience Christmas with the kids...and I get helpers with the cards, decorating, baking and just plain getting festive.  The girls are excited to wake up in the morning and find out what the activity of the day is.  Some are better than others, some one likes more than the other, some are flops.  But sometimes we get a new winner, like Friday's...visit the live nativity at a local church.  It was amazing and the kids loved the mule (he was LOUD) and the camels.  Saturday we didn't get to do the activity since Bella and Steve went to a lacrosse clinic run by the womens national team so Jake, Alaina and I went to Home Depot to make a snowman napkin holder.  Jake did his all by himself, as did Alaina.  Sunday we got to decorate the tree and it turned out great.  It has ornaments from all the places we have lived and the kids like to hang the ornaments that we buy each of them each year.
