Lacrosse Fun Day...and other ramblings

Well, lacrosse is "officially" over.  Which, in this household, means that it is over for a couple of weeks.  Yesterday was a fun day down in Woodbridge and Bella played with some of the other Herndon girls.  Bella loves to play middie, but tried her hand as goalie, and loved that too.  Granted, I think she loved it because each time she made a save (where she caught the ball) she ran it to the midfield and then shot it.  (Goal would not have counted, but she wanted to try to do it)  In future levels of play, the other girls would have realized they could attack her and then she would have been in trouble!  Regardless, like all the other games it was fun to watch.  She really has found her sport...I just don't want her to burn herself out with it.
In other notes, she is in the process of trying out for a travel soccer team simply because one of her friends is.  Steve and I are pretty ambivalent on her making the team because they are pretty intense.  However, the coach is amazing and could actually teach her how to play, unlike her last coach (bless his volunteering heart).  Hopefully, she won't be crushed if she doesn't make it.
Both girls will be moving on from all of the variations of Twinkle, Twinkle in violin within the next week or two. Their instructor has praised them because many kids are on that song for 6 months to a year before moving on.  It is obvious that they take time to practice in between lessons.
Tae KwonDo is wrapping up for Alaina soon and she has decided that she doesn't want to continue with it.  I don't know if it is because the weather has been nice and she doesn't want to miss playing with friends to go to practice.  Who knows.
Swim team started last week and one of the boys in Alaina's group told her that the only reason she beat him was because her lane was shorter than his.  Hah!  too funny.  It really is hard for some boys to admit when they get schooled by a girl.  She wasn't upset...she was too busy laughing at the silliness of her lane being shorter than his.
Jake and I are just busy hanging out (in between shuttling the girls to and from activities) and hopefully, we will be going to the pool now that we got our passes.
