We spent the past weekend in CT visiting Steve's family. Steve's Uncle Hiram is in the hospital and we wanted to see him before the holidays (aka, craziness) got the best of us. We made the rounds and were able to see almost everybody, though we did miss two of his uncles and a bunch of cousins. Maybe we should have hung out at Grandma's house a little longer on Sunday...Anyway, it was a nice visit and we assured everyone that it wouldn't be another 3 years before we were back. 305 miles is a much easier drive than the 5000 mile flight. The kids remain fabulous travelers and enjoyed the trip. Alaina took many pictures along the way and got a couple of nice ones of the GW bridge in NYC.
This week has been gloriously sunny and the weather has been mild. It made for a beautiful field trip to Frying Pan Farm. Jake and I walked over to the farm to meet Alaina's class. They all had a good time doing chores and going on a scavenger hunt to find all the farm animals. Tomorrow marks the end of soccer season for the girls and they are already gearing up for the next adventure...will it be gymnastics, or tae kwon do, or violin lessons, or volleyball, or basketball...you get the point. Everyday it's something new.
