Wow, we sure have been busy with day to day life! Bella is on spring break and we have been having a good time. We have gone to the new playground several times, went to the library, went to visit one of the lighthouses, went to the beach (I got burned!), did some shopping and Jake got pictures taken. The week before last we had a good friend from college come in to visit. While he was here we did a day trip over to the Big Island to see the volcano. The girls were supremely disappointed when they didn't see a cone shaped mountain spewing hot, liquid magma! We hiked through the lava tube and along the latest lava flow that closed down one of the roads (for good) last Thanksgiving. We decided to go back to the Big Island sometime later this summer. Alaina was so cute with "Mr. Greg." I would leave Alaina and Jake with him when I took Bella to school and the one day when I left she was snuggled up on the couch with him watching Curious George. While he was here we also tried to get up to the Polynesian Cultural Center but we were hampered by torrential downpour and were only able to view the villages from the canoe ride. But we did get to see the evening show which is always a treat. The girls were dancing and Jake was enthralled. He has been taking a couple of steps here and there but still sees crawling as a faster mode of travel. He has also been trying to say some words (besides Hi Dad). This morning he said eggs and he has called Bella's name. Still no Mom... On other fronts, Steve's change of command is set for April 28th and looks like it will be a fairly low key event. We think we will be moving to a new house in the middle of June, but we are waiting on the current tenants to get their orders before we sign the contract. That just gives me more time to pack up!
